ROBATEL Industries is almost 2 centuries of boiler making and special machine design activities.

Our Vocation

To support the nuclear industry throughout the world

ROBATEL Industries, an SME with 130 employees, specializes in the design and manufacture of mechanically welded equipment for the nuclear industry.

In the nuclear sector, ROBATEL Industries is particularly involved in the design and production of casks for the transport and storage of radioactive substances, shielded cells, glove boxes and biological protection and, more generally, in turnkey industrial assembly projects.

Our history

Almost two centuries of experience.

1830

Foundation and manufacturing of floating mills, then steam engines, locomotives and mechanical devices for the textile and food industries.

1899

Construction of Narval, a submersible equipped with a periscope and external ballast tanks which was preferred by the navy at the time. It is the first submarine equipped with a mixed propulsion: ROBATEL steam engine on the surface, electric motor when diving.

1905

Creation of horizontal shaft centrifugal dryers with automatic operation, used in fertilizers and synthetic ammonia factories in Europe, Russia, the United States of America and Japan.

1953

Michel Robatel develops the group's nuclear activity.

1954

First leaded steel shielded container for the transport of radioactive materials.

1989

Launch of the first centrifuges specially designed for operation in sterile environments for the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries. New company name: "ROBATEL", which is now the same as the worldwide registered trademark.

2000

Creation of ROBATEL INDUSTRIES.

2009

Creation of ROBATEL Technologies, commercial headquarters in the United States.

2010

New location of ROBATEL INDUSTRIES in Cadarache.

The ROBATEL group

The ROBATEL group includes 3 entities:

ROBATEL SA, the holding company which defines the strategy and leads the group.
ROBATEL INDUSTRIES, the operating company that designs and manufactures the products.
ROBATEL TECHNOLOGIES, the American subsidiary created in 2009, which adapts the main products of ROBATEL INDUSTRIES to the North American market.

We are located in the United States in Roanoke, in the Netherlands in Petten. But also and mainly in France in the municipalities of La Hague, Corbières and Genas where our head office is located.
